I'm pleased to announce that I started a new job this week as Technology Evangelist of IBM Mobile Enterprise Services. IBM Global Technology Services (GTS) offers a number of end user services to help end users become more productive and collaborate. My particular area of focus is mobile enterprise services which enables customers to work anywhere, anytime from smartphones and tablets such as Google Android, Apple iPad and Research in Motion Blackberry.
As I look back over the seven years I've spent with the IBM Office of the CIO and the IBM internal account, I'm proud of what I've accomplished. In particular, the IBM CIO Workplace of the Future initiative which I helped launch represents a fresh and new approach to deliver the right set of IT services to specific user segments. I leave the CIO's office with a much better appreciation of the challenges of a world-wide information technology company with over 385,000 employees and well-prepared to assist external customer with similar challenges.
I'll be presenting at Lotusphere 2011 in Orlando, FL on Wednesday, February 2 from 1:30-2:30pm on how IBM is leveraging smartphones and tablets inside the company. I'll also be working at the product showcase at the IBM mobility and Macintosh booth. For those not familiar with Lotusphere, it's IBM's annual conference focused on collaboration. More details:
