Communicate with IBM employees via Sametime 7.5

Earlier this year, we announced the ability for customers to chat with IBM employees via the Sametime Connect client in addition to the browser-based client.    Since Sametime Connect 7.5 has now shipped, we've expanded this capability to include the new client.  One of the features of Sametime Connect 7.5 is the ability to log into two communities at the same time.  This would allow a customer to log in to both their corporate Sametime server as well as IBM's in order to communicate with IBM employees.   To configure 7.5:


1. Add new community, extst.ibm.com, via File - Preferences.  Enter your IBM.com user id and password (IBM Registration)

Click on the server tab and enter the host server "extst.ibm.com" and change the community port from 1533 to 80

Click the icon on the toolbar to log in

One you are logged in, you can add IBM employees to your buddylist using their e-mail address.  Be sure to select "External Contact" since the extst.ibm.com community is connected to messaging.ibm.com via the Sametime SIP/SIMPLE gateway
