Domino Blog Template - Basics
The Domino Blog template was introduced in Notes and Domino 7.0.2. The application can be used for an individual or group to host a blog on a Domino server with the HTTP server task running. This blog as well as many other external blogs such as Ed Brill, Alan Lepofsky, Adam Gartenberg use the Domino blog template. You can create a new blog through the Notes client just like any other Notes application (see screenshot below). FAQs:
Q; What clients can be used to author content?
A: Both the Notes client and a web browser can be used to author content. The advantage of the Notes client is the ability to replicate and work offline. This means the blog content owner can create new blog entries and respond to comments while offline. When the owner replicates to the server, the additions are posted to the website
Q: How come all the blogs (Chris Pepin, Ed Brill, Alan Lepofsky, Adam Gartenberg) look different?
A: Each blog has been customized, through standard HTML to meet the need of its owner. The blog template makes this very easy to do.
Q: How can I host an a blog on the Web, accessible to anyone?
A: The Domino server that hosts your blog needs to be accessible on the Web. My blog is hosted by PSC
